Q&A with former German International Philipp Wollscheid

Another unique opportunity for the Mees Palace Football Academy in Jos/Nigeria. Former German International Philipp Wollscheid shared his experiences as a player and coach in another very entertaining digital coaching clinic with coaches of Mees Palace Football Academy (MPFA).

Organized in partnership with Schaechter Sports and Vandyke FC, Wollscheid answered various questions from the Mees Palace coaches.

As a player, Wollscheid played for Bayer Leverkusen, 1.FC Nuernberg and Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga as well as Stoke City in the English Premier League and FC Metz in the French Ligue 1.In 2013 he made his international debut for Germany national team in a friendly game against Ecuador. After his professional career, Wollscheid was assistant coach of the U19 Team of 1.FC Kaiserslautern in the Youth Bundesliga.

“I had a lot of fun working with the Nigerian coaches. It is impressive what can be done digitally and I believe that such formats helps a lot. It was also exciting for me to learn more about the Nigierian football system and their work“, said Wollscheid

The digital Mainz 05 coaching clinics and live training sessions with kids from Jos in cooperation with the Mees Palace Academy running very succesful. The club continuing its many years of successful work in Nigeria.
